Extreme Winds in the New European Wind Atlas

The presentation gives a summary of what the NEWA final wind Atlas product will provide in terms of extreme winds. 50-year winds defined according to IEC 61400-1 are estimated from the time series data of the mesoscale wind data. In order to counteract the occurring smooting effect, a modified Spectral Correction Method is applied.
